How did you hear about the Association of Professional Financial Managers of Azerbaijan (APFM) and what would you like to wish this organization? For the first time, I heard about the activities of such an organization from the financial managers of our corporate clients. The Financier journal expanded my understanding of this organization. Every month I receive new issues of the journal and read them with interest. I am glad that there is such an association that unites professional accountants in our country, supports their individual development, conducts training and international certification activities, and has extensive foreign contacts. I wish APFM success in its current activities and future projects.

Aslan Majidov

I have been working in finance and accounting since 1999. Currently I work as the head of the financial department of the State Administration of Radio Frequencies of the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport. In 2022, I became a member of APFM (Association of Professional Financial Managers of Azerbaijan). However, my acquaintance with APFM happened 10 years ago. APFM is a professional organization with international accreditation. In 2012, I participated in an international training organized by APFM and received the IAB Diploma in Accounting and Advanced Bookkeeping. At the beginning of last year, I began attending trainings to prepare for the international qualification exam and after successfully passing the exam, I received the ICFM (Institute of Certified Financial Managers) diploma. At the same time, I successfully passed the 1st and 2nd stages of the examinations for the Certificate of Professional Accountant, and received this certificate. The role of APFM in professional development of specialists is undeniable. I express my deep gratitude to the APFM team for their work on improving the qualifications of accountants and financiers and wish APFM further success in its activities!

Anar Mahmudov

I graduated from Azerbaijan State University of Economics majoring in accounting, control and analysis of economic activity. I have been working as an accountant since 2006, and since 2018, I have been working as the chief accountant of Azerishig OJSC. I have always thought about the advantage of having international qualifications for increasing my professional knowledge and skills, applying innovations, and for this reason I became a member of APFM. The Association of Professional Financial Managers is a professional body with international accreditations. My first acquaintance with this institution happened a long time ago. Having participated in international trainings at APFM, I have received IAB-Diploma in Advanced Bookkeeping, Dip IFR AZ diplomas. Recently, I joined the preparatory training for the Diploma in IFRS international qualification exam organized by APFM, and after obtaining a successful result in this exam, I got the right to be exempted from the 1st stage of the PMS exams. In a short time, I participated in the training on Legislation organized by APFM at a high level and successfully passed the PMS 2nd stage exam and obtained a PMS certificate. In parallel, thanks to APFM, I increased my theoretical knowledge and now I have started to use this knowledge more widely in practice.

Lamiyya Karimova

I have been working as the Deputy Chief Accountant at the State Oil Fund of the Republic of Azerbaijan since 2002. I am a member of APFM since 2020. I would like to mention that APFM also played a big role in my development as a professional accountant. So, after successfully completing Sevil Babayeva training on IFRS in 2021, I obtained the ICFM (The Institute of Certified Financial Managers) certificate “Diploma in IFRS”. Later, I received the PMS (Professional Accountant Certificate) certificate after passing Rashad Ahmadovs training onTax legislation;. Now, as a follow up, I have enrolled in the ICFM Financial Management course. I believe that in modern times, it is necessary to move forward, to update and develop knowledge, not to be satisfied with any achievement. I would especially like to emphasize that APFM has great support for me in carrying out this mission. I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate APFM team on becoming a member of IFAC (International Federation of Accountants)! You deserve the greatest success! In addition, I look forward to have new CPD programs and training in ethics from APFM in the future. I wish you new successes and achievements in all these processes!

APFM is a large Association of finance, accounting, management professionals, finance managers and accountants. Can you tell us about how you got your Professional Accountant Certificate?
I learned about exams. One day, on a social media page owned by a friend of mine who is an accountant, I saw the certificate he received. It got me interested. After successfully passing the exam in Azerbaijani, you receive an international certificate and are exempted from the 1st stage of the PMS exam. I contacted APFM and joined the classes taught by teacher Rauf (Rauf Rzayev). It's nice to be able to join from home. We started classes in January. I took the exam in July and the results were announced in September. It turned out that the result is positive. In other words, my professional path began with APFM. I planned to prepare for stage 2 and pass the exam in 2022. On the last 2nd day of registration, I met one of my teachers. He convinced me to register. I registered. The result of this exam was also positive. Thanks APFM!

Can you tell us about how you got your Professional Accountant Certificate?
After the Azerbaijan accounting legislation amended the Professional Accountant certificate, I discussed it with my fellow accountants and collected information about the international certificate. Having successfully passed the exam in Azerbaijani, you receive an international certificate and are exempted from the first stage of the PMS exam. With this in mind, I turned to the RS Konstaltinq organization. After professional Educations by Sevil, I passed the APFM exam and received a diploma from ICFM (Institute of Certified Financial Managers). Then I took a refresher course in legislation taught by Reshad Ahmedov at APFM, and as a result I received a Professional Accountant Certificate. In this regard, I express my gratitude to both organizations and professional teachers!

How did you end up in APFM?
The Association of Professional Financial Managers is a professional organization with international accreditation. My first acquaintance with this organization happened 12 years ago. I joined the International Qualifying Exams Education organized by APFM. After successfully passing the exams, I was accepted as a member of this organization. After that, I began to work more closely with APFM, and we successfully continue this cooperation to this day. I note that membership in APFM means communication with many professional specialists and managers working in the field of financial management. This is a great advantage, as it creates opportunities for making effective decisions by discussing novelties in the financial sector, complex solutions with professionals. Since 2016, APFM has been elected a full member of the European Federation of Accountants and Auditors (EFAA), and since 2019 it has been accredited as a Professional Accountancy Organization in accordance with the relevant decision of the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

How did you hear about the Association of Professional Financial Managers of Azerbaijan (APFM)?
I participated in Educations and classes organized by APFM. As a result of my participation in the Educations, I received diplomas such as "International Financial Reporting Standards" and "Professional Financial Manager". At the same time, at your invitation, I attended a major conference organized by you in Spain, which was attended by well-known experts in the field of accounting, auditing and the financial sector in Europe. The topics discussed at the conference were very important in terms of improving the efficiency of the business process system so that the public sector, large enterprises and organizations operating in our country maintain and develop their positions based on the requirements of the modern global market economy, and these topics are of great importance in the study of foreign experience.

How did you hear about APFM? Your wishes to APFM. I feel like I've known APFM all my life. Because you are very active. Teachers have always been highly respected. APFM provides knowledge and skills by educating many people and providing the opportunity to get a job in accordance with their interests. This is true kindness. I wish APFM success on this path. I wish that your energy and new ideas will not end and that your contribution to the development of our population will always increase.
