On May 22, 2019, within the framework of strengthening cooperation between professional organizations of accountants and auditors of different countries of the Eurasian region, an agreement was signed on the organization of a regional group, the Eurasian Confederation of professional organizations of auditors and accountants, in which APFM was also included. This Agreement was signed at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation as a results of International Conference “Code of Ethics –– the basis of the profession of an accountant and auditor: challenges and opportunities” and the Round Table “Strengthening the role of professional organizations of accountants of Eurasian region”. The agreement was signed in the presence of heads of professional organizations of Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Lithuania, Moldova, Russia, and Uzbekistan, representatives of the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Belarus and Uzbekistan and IFAC (International Federation of Accountants)- Dr.Stavros Thomadakis -IESBA Chairman and Mr.Ken Siong-IESBA's Technical Director . The agreement aims to provide a forum for cooperation and assistance to regional professional accounting and auditing organizations in order for further enhance the status of the accounting and auditing profession, promote the development of common ethical, technical, and educational guidelines for the accounting and auditing profession in the region, provide accountants and auditors with an exchange platform for relevant important information about the profession and so on.
